Monkeypox is a rare and infectious disease caused by monkey virus, transmitted from animals to human, with symptoms similar to those of smallpox, although less severe. Some of the experts who spoke were those from the National AIDS/STI Control Programme (NASCAP). Pelvic inflammatory disease, or PID, is an inflammation of a woman’s upper reproductive tract, including the structures of the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. Salpingitis, inflammation of the fallopian tubes, is the most common manifestation of the disease.
