Renowned Expert Introduces Cutting-edge Cancer Treatments

A special medical camp that will enable persons in need of information and follow-up consultations on cancer meet Dr Nagaraju Madhusudhan, a specialist in cancer treatment from HCG Cancer Hospital Bangalore, India held Thursday, in Lagos.
The medical camp is a brainchild of Healthcare Global (HCG) Enterprise Hospital, a global leader in cancer care. HCG with a network of over 500 oncologists hosted the camp at the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Surulere, Lagos to help Nigerians battling cancers and related conditions. A statement signed by Dr. Madhusudhan, said that the goal of the camp is to cut the cost of having to travel abroad for consultations in search of quality care.
This is as HCG would be using the occasion to also introduce cutting-edge technologies used in cancer management to Nigerians.
Speaking on the camp, Mr. Ganapati Hegde, HCG Regional Manager for West Africa, said: “We have seen the number of Nigerians that go out of the country in search of quality cancer care. Obviously not all of those who have the need for such services are able to avail themselves of them. So we have decided to bring Dr Madhusudhan, one of the best oncologists you find today, to Nigeria.”
Continuing, Hegde said, “Our intent is to help patients achieve longer, better live, adding life to years and to improve cancer care – one centre at a time.”
He said in the field of radiation oncology, HCG has the latest art of the technology machines like cyberknife, tomotherapy , truebeam and many others.
“The CyberKnife is the only robotic radiation delivery system for non-invasive, painless, treatment for cancerous and non-cancerous tumors and other conditions where radiation therapy is indicated,” he said.
Dr Madhusudhan, a Radiation Oncologist, is renown for his expertise in 2D Treatment Planning, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), CyberKnife, brachytherapy, chemotherapy and clinical oncology.
HCG boasts of having done more than 2,500 cyberknife treatment till date, with excellent results.
