One hundred and five (105) people have been inducted to render service to humanity with a pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of Lions International District 404-A3, Nigeria, on World Induction Day.
The inductees, who were accepted into the fold of Lions Club International District 404-A3, Nigeria, were drawn from the 55 clubs in the district to assist with the task of humanitarian service delivery to members of the society.
They promised to assist in lessening the burdens of the less-privileged through the club’s gestures to society since the government cannot be left alone in caring for the needs of the citizens.
Chairman, Worldwide Induction Day, Lion Tajudeen Dele Lamidi, a member of Sagamu Metropolitan Lions Club, said that the event, which was held across the world recently, "was to usher in new members to join us, and having more members means having more services.”
Lamidi said: "Today is an important one to usher in new members. Today, we recorded the largest number ever when it comes to induction, and we are happy that we have new members," adding: "I want to encourage people to join the club. It's about putting our resources together to make our community better than we met it. There's no barrier to membership."

Lion Sotomide said that the induction of new members will help in achieving the club's aim.
According to the District Governor: “The more members we have, the merrier for the club. It will also help in bearing the burden of the less-privileged in our midst."
"The more hands we have, the lighter the weight of the burden on the club. As those new members have come to join the organization, it will make it much easier for us to bear the burdens of the less-privileged in the society, Lion Sotomide noted, adding: "This is more like lessening the burdens of serving the less privileged in our midst."
Lion Sotomide, who charged the new members to keep doing their best and excelling in whatever they do in their community by letting the government feel their impact, added that the citizens cannot expect the government to bear the burden of the community alone.
The District Governor charged the inductees to realise that the government is not alone in the betterment of Nigeria, adding: "We must continue to support the government in our little ways until our impact is felt by the individuals and government."
Also at the event, the guest speaker and the District Global Extension Team (GET) Coordinator, Lion Felicia Obilo, said 105 new Lion club members were inducted for the first time, saying that it is a call to service.
Lion Obilo said that the new members were drawn from both within and outside the 55 clubs in the district, while charging the inductees to imbibe the Lions Club Code of Ethics, which is the most important thing about the club.
Admonishing the new members to go forth and preach the gospel of serving humanity, Lion Obilo also charged them to bring people to the Lions Club, "which is a platform to do charity work with people of like minds."
"It's a credible platform to meet people of like minds for service to humanity," she added.
