A Social- Political group, Ado Odo Development Foundation (ADF) has called on Ogun state government to build a modern Hospital for the community.
The organization regretted that despite the large population and contributions by the community, there is no infrastructural development.
Speaking recently at a launching of N50, 000,000.00 to resuscitate the abandoned community hospital project initiated in early 80s, chairman of the organization, Mr Olukayode Akapo, lamented the insensitivity of the government to the health care delivery in Ado Odo saying that ADF had earlier donated relief materials such as mattresses, pillows, freezers and hospital beds to the two primary health centers in the community.
Akapo, urged the Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to look into the problems of health care system in the area and provide solutions by improving and upgrading the facilities in the health centers.
The chairman maintained that the organization will continue to support and ease problems of health care delivery in Ado Odo.
According to him “we are not going to relent on our efforts to ensure that our people have access to good health care, but we want government to upgrade our health care delivery system.
Chairman of the occasion, Professor Oludayo Amokaye, admonished the organization for their noble roles to improve health care delivery in the community.
Amokaye regretted that the community hospital initiated in early 80s has been neglected by succeeding governments of the state, therefore, challenged governor Amosun to complete the project.
According to him “the idea of a community hospital is a lofty initiative but considering the huge capital involvement it requires government support “we are calling on the Ogun state government to join hands with the community to complete and make it functioning”
Chairman, Ado Odo Local Council Development Area, Hon( Engr) Saeed Alagbe assured his administration’s support to ensure rapid development of the area.
Alagbe disclosed that he had held a consultative meeting with stakeholders in the area on how to stimulate growth and increase investment in the LCDA.
He commended Senator Ibikunle Amosun for establishing a multi million Naira school project in the area, assuring that his administration will lay a good foundation by using agriculture to develop the area.
