The Kogi State Chapter
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused governor Yahaya Bello
for spending a whooping one billion naira tax payers money on the
APC presidential rally held in lokoja, on Wednesday 16 January, 2019.
The PDP described the
crowd that attended the President Muhammadu Buhari's campaign
rally as " rented" which it said would not translate to actual votes
saying that the APC would face the greatest defeat in the history of elections
in the state.
The PDP said President
Buhari should not expect the support of Kogi people in his desire for a second
term , described the tenure as pathetic and woes for the people.
The PDP in a statement
signed by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation, a copy was
made available to Journalists in lokoja Thursday lambasted President
Mohammadu Buhari for supervising over the plundering of the state economy
.
According to the Kogi
PDP, despite the several billions of Naira accrued to Kogi in the last three
years, the state has recorded the highest number of debts running into
hundreds of billion naira.
It added that
uncountable numbers of civil servants who have died , lost the pride of
family lives due to epileptic payment of salaries would continue
to hunt them during the elections.
The statement said for
the presidency to have kept blind eyes to the agony and pains unleashed on the
people of the state by governor Yahaya Bello shows that the APC
administration has no good intentions for the citizenry.
The Statement mocked President
Mohammadu Buhari that in his less than two minutes speech at the rally,
he could not itemized any project he has done for the
state adding that to make matters worse he could not remember to mention
Ajaokuta steel company in his speech which he knows is dear to the economic
lives of the people.
The PDP said while no
meaningful project can be said to have been commissioned in the last three
years in Kogi state, the PDP fingered Mr. President for using Gov. Bello to
unleash economic mayhem on the people.
It added that for the
president to repeatedly called my governor was a confirmation that Bello has
the backing of the president for his atrocities against the people of the
state.
The PDP described Kogi
State as new haven for institutional corruption stating that
insecurity is in its highest form, as oppositions are being
targeted and killed at random.
The PDP urged Mr
President not to be deceived by the N2000 paid to each of the hired crowd at
the rally vowed that the PDP would win Kogi state convincingly in the
forthcoming general elections as the people were fed up with hunger and
deprivation.
The PDP used the medium
to remind Gov. Yahaya Bello that it has every record of his transaction and
mortgaging of Kogi State, through the several loans he has collected on behalf
of the state, said even the recent jamboree to spend a billion naira tax payers
money to host Mr. President to a rally would be accounted for.
